A Job Listing Suggests that The Sims 5 Could be in Development

Since its debut in 2014, The Sims 4 has been performing exceptionally well on the market, selling more than 10 million copies and enjoying a constantly growing playerbase. According to many fans and experts, it would be a logical move to start the development process of the new title. However, a new evidence in the form of a job listing that was found on EA’s website seems to suggest that the company is already working on its highly anticipated title.

Is EA working on The Sims 5

The proof that EA has already started the process of developing The Sims 5 was discovered on the company’s website by the fans of the game. To be precise, the company is searching for a character modeler, specifying that a successful candidate will work on an “exciting new game in the best-selling Sims franchise”. EA also notes that the team is currently small, but grows very fast.

The Sims 5 could be out in 2019

Looking at the release dates of the older titles of The Sims-series, we can clearly see a pattern. The Sims 3 debuted in 2009, so 5 years before The Sims 4. The period of time between the releases of the Sims 2 and the Sims 3 was also 5 years. This seems to point at 2019 as the year when The Sims 5 will make its debut. However, in order to accomplish this task, the game would have to be in the process of development right now.

EA keeps improving The Sims 4

At the moment, EA still wants to invest in The Sims 4, which is obvious when we look at the number of DLCs that it releases for the game. There are rumors about the possible addition of a Witches and Wizards expansion, a pack which further proves that EA is not ready to let The Sims 4 go.
