Top Clash of Clans Alternatives for 2018

Mobile games have improved considerably since Supercell’s smash hit Clash of Clans was released. As the game continues to be a success and keeps adding interesting content like Clan War Leagues that has just went live, it’s quite difficult for other similar games to strive. However, we found some Clash of Clans alternatives that have been released up until this year that are interesting and worth checking out.

Castle Clash

The most popular alternative to Clash of Clans is Castle Clash, made by IGG. While it is very similar to Clash of Clans, Castle Clash also comes with unique things. For example, you are a warlord that tries to build the biggest empire ever. The layout, style, map size and other stuff from Clash of Clans are also present: walls, armies, troops, upgrades, and so on. What you’ll probably like about this game is that it has a faster pace than Clash of Clans, where you don’t need to wait for days to complete upgrades.

This game was downloaded on Android for more than 100 million times and made it into the top 10 list in 2014.

Clash Royale

Supercell has another popular game: Clash Royale. It is not a knock-off like games with similar titles. Royale brings to the table a more competitive feel, but it uses the same graphics, troops and stuff you see in Clash of Clans in a different type of gameplay. It is a top-down turn-based strategy game.

So, if you like Clash and also love turn-based games, this one should be on your list!

Call of Duty: Heroes

Activision didn’t want to be left behind in the Clash of Clans bandwagon, so they made their own game, but with their popular shooter franchise! You’ll play a sort of Clash of Clans with a COD feel to it – you can use special attack powers, helicopter attacks, and many things you find in the FPS genre, all translated in the Clash of Clans gameplay.

Call of Duty: Heroes is not a clone of the Supercell popular game, and you’ll know it right away after you see how much work is behind it.

Forge of Empires

It might look less appealing, but Forge of Empires follows the Clash of Clans formula, taking it further. It mixes a Total War style, taking the player through different ages. You even have a “tree of knowledge” to tweak, and the detail and variety make it a complex game.

The only thing annoying is the wait time, but you’ve already experienced it in Clash of Clans.
