With Red Dead Redemption 2 a day away, Rockstar Games boss Dan Houser has talked about the highly anticipated game fans have been waiting for: GTA 6!
Grand Theft Auto VI is the most awaited game that follows after GTA V. Fans all over the world have been talking about GTA 6 for more than a year, not to mention all the rumors circulating all over the Internet about the future game.
Thankfully, after Red Dead Redemption 2, Rockstar will now have more time to dedicate for the next GTA game. Now, Dan Houser has made an interesting statement, saying that gamers might not have been very happy about a GTA VI during the Donald Trump age, and here are some of his reasons.
President of the United States hasn’t said anything about the game, but Houser believes that the next GTA would have to suffer in today’s political climate: “it’s really unclear what we would even do with it, let alone how upset people would get with whatever we did.”
The Good News and the Bad News
According to his statements, the good news is that GTA VI will come eventually after world politics would sort itself out:
“Both intense liberal progression and intense conservatism are both very militant, and very angry. It is scary but it’s also strange, and yet both of them seem occasionally to veer towards the absurd. It’s hard to satirise for those reasons. Some of the stuff you see is straightforwardly beyond satire. It would be out of date within two minutes, everything is changing so fast.”
But how much should we wait for GTA VI? It will surely not be released this year, but rumors have it that the dev team has been worked for years for the incoming GTA.
As for Red Dead Redemption 2, the game is a historical fiction, said Houser, explaining that politics, feminism, and racial equality are added to the game:
“This is a time when the women’s movement had begun in its infancy. Women were beginning to challenge their very constrained place in society, and that gave us some interesting characters.”
