PlayStation 5 Release Date Update – It Might Come Sooner Than Expected

For all those Sony and PlayStation fans out there, we have some good news. More and more reports emerged on the Internet stating that PlayStation 5 release date would be finally announced in 2019. That might suggest for a launch in 2020, which would be excellent.

Lately, many have speculated on when the next-gen consoles would roll out and what features would PlayStation 5 and Xbox Scarlett (Two) come out with, given the fact that both consoles would be next-generation devices.

So, the reports are discussing the possibility that Sony would hold an event, somewhen in mid-2019, reportedly before E3 2019, where the Japanese entertainment company would present the future PlayStation 5 release date and some of its primary features, as well. That would suggest for a late-2019 or early-2020 launch, but the things might not be as logical as may appear to be right now.

PlayStation 5 Release Date And Features

Most likely, Sony will make more announcements on the future PS5, and they might even drop some news centered on PlayStation 5 somewhen in May next year, before the before-mentioned conference where the company would reveal more details about the console.

While we can’t know when precisely Sony will set the PlayStation 5 release date, we can guess that, most likely, the PS5 would roll out in 2020. Also, some recent PlayStation 5 leaks debated a fan-favorite feature in PS5, namely, the PS4 backward compatibility.

The information disseminated thanks to a patent Sony filed, whose title is “Remastering by Emulation.” According to the patent’s documents, “each asset such as a texture called for by legacy software such as a legacy computer game software has a unique identifier associated with it. The original software is then played on the higher resolution display, with the asset (such as texture) calls being intercepted, identified, and the data structure entered to retrieve the remastered asset having a matching identifier.”

Even though PlayStation 5 release date remains a mystery, some rumors are suggesting that we already have a title that would experience a massive revamp to match with the next-generation console. Red Dead Redemption 2 has been rumored to be ready to get a significant facelift when PS5 would come out.
