Miyazaki Talks About “Bloodborne 2” And Leaves Fans With Mixed Feelings

Anyone that loved Bloodborne should read know that the game is an ‘unfinished tale’ that From Software should definitely continue. Will this mean that they will come with a DLC or perhaps an entirely new game? Here are some things Bloodborne creator Hidetaka Miyazaki said in an interview with Xataka.

Will There Be a Bloodborne 2?

The answer is confusing, leaving fans wanting.

Deracine is the latest game released by From Software that included these easter eggs is the PlayStation VR exclusive called. While the game is not raising to the fans expectations on how a From Software game should be – a hardcore action game, they might enjoy the Bloodborne references that hint the game might come back.

While talking about the Deracine, the interviewer asks Miyazaki about the easter eggs encountered in the game that hint towards the Bloodborne story:

In ‘Deraciné’, Yuliya, the sick girl, has some toys that are clearly related to ‘Bloodborne’,” says the interviewer, adding that “the names of his friends, Laurent, German, also have a lot to do with ‘Bloodborne’. The books they read, as well. Is ‘Bloodborne’ the fevered delirium of a dying girl? Is the dream of the hunter his dream?

Together with From Software community manager Yasuhiro Kitao, Miyazaki laugh at the intricate connections and respond:

“Okay, yes. Actually, this is exactly the conversation that my team and I had. It’s the kind of conversation we keep during development, because there are Easter eggs … However … The easter egg in itself is not indicative that we are going to launch ‘Bloodborne II’.”

What no fan of this game wants to hear are his next words:

“I’m not in a position to talk about a possible release of ‘Bloodborne II’. However, we love ‘Bloodborne’; that’s why this easter egg has aroused so much curiosity. But, I repeat, it’s not a ‘Bloodborne II’ notice. It’s just something that we explored among ourselves, because we love ‘Bloodborne’.”

The interesting way to put “not being in a position to talk about Bloodborne II” would mean that the new game could be in development, but there is an NDA on this subject.

And not only the doll in Deracine hints at the game, but also the sea-faring sage that is described:

The ‘unfinished tale’ hints that Bloodborne itself was a tale not yet finished.
