The Overwatch Christmas event is already up and running, available from December 11th through January 2nd and adding new skins, moves, highlights, player icons, and more. On the other hand, after updating the Blizzard World map to its Christmas looks, there were some problems with the players’ spawn rooms. That’s why the devs removed Blizzard World map from Overwatch, but just temporarily.
Overwatch’s Blizzard World Map, Temporarily Removed Due To Spawn Rooms Bugs
In Overwatch, as those of you who have played will know, the maps have spawn rooms that must be opened as soon as the game is underway. There aren’t usually any mistakes in this process, but for some reason, Blizzard World’s spawn rooms started to present issues recently. One of the affected players, The_Nerk, posted a video on Reddit where you can watch the error live. After being stuck, his team was finally kicked out of the game for inactivity.
It was not an isolated case, as other players proceeded to participate with bug reports ranging from similar spawn rooms’ bugs to immobile loads until the available time ran out. A few hours ago, Blizzard announced that they have temporarily disabled Blizzard World in Overwatch, as well as the modes that include it.
Blizzard Did Not Say When Blizzard World Would Be Again Available In Overwatch
“We have identified a problem with Blizzard World that prevents players from leaving the spawn areas at the start of the game and completing the game. Due to the impact of this issue, we have temporarily disabled Blizzard World in all regions on PCs, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One while fixing the bugs. We don’t have an ETA to share for now, as Blizzard World will be playable again, but this is our top priority, and we will make sure to provide updates on this thread and Twitter,” Blizzard said.
