Samsung Galaxy Tab A is Finally Receiving Android 8.1 Oreo Update

This month brought a series of long-awaited updates in the mobile world and many of them targeted Android devices. During the famous December 2018 security update smartphone users from Asia, China and USA were able to experience a few positive changes in their mobile’s functionality.

Furthermore, every update comes with some bugs fixed and security breaches solved. In some cases, the phones received the new Android 9 Pie and now users are discovering what the OS brings.

On the other hand, mid-range phones and budget tablets are not the first on the list when updates are concerned. It can take years until these devices receive new operating systems or improved security patches. Samsung Galaxy Tab A, for example, had to wait two years until it got on the update list.

Android 8.1 Oreo brings some interesting changes in Galaxy Tab A

The Galaxy Tab A from Samsung was launched 2 years ago. As many of us know, it is considered to be a budget-friendly gadget, but it works well and has modern specs. According to recent leaks, the tablet is finally being updated to the latest version of Android Oreo – 8.1.

Of course, this is not Android Pie, but it’s still a progress and comes with a few improvements. In any case, the update makes Samsung Galaxy Tab A users happy, especially since it comes with the November 2018 security patch and Samsung Experience 9.5.

Fans who want to install Android 8.1 Oreo should have at least 1.2 GB free storage space and should be prepared to adapt to a few changes. Some features will work better and faster; the Quick Panel, Home Screen and Samsung keyboard have been updated with user-friendly characteristics.

In other words, get your Tab A and see if it received the update. If it didn’t, you can check if it is available and do it yourself. Go to Settings – About device – Software updates, complete the process and enjoy!
