In November, Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL users got some Play Store credit to use for future in-app purchases or to spend on games or apps. Now the same discount is offered to all users that have purchased in the past. But there’s a catch to this discount, so check out this article if you want to know if you are eligible for the credit.
Who Gets Play Store Credit?
You can find out if you get the discount by checking the Home tab in the Play Store. Scroll down until you get to a yellow banner. Some users will see a card that reads “$5 to spend on any app or game.”
Notice the “Terms apply” under the sentence, which explains that the deal will only be applied to apps, games, or in-app purchases that cost $20 or more. It’s actually a 25% discount, which is quite impressive. However, how many apps, games or in-app purchases cost $20 or more? Google also wrote that “in-app subscriptions are excluded.”
If you tap the banner, you will save the deal, and you’ll be shown the page with the conditions and full terms. The page also shows the apps that come with IAPs like Pokemon Go and Candy Crush.
The good news is that there are several other offers like – $10 off $30 and $2 off $20, with the latter 20% discount being the most popular offer.
As we have mentioned before, this offer will only show up to people that have made purchases in Play Store: the discount is “open to select participants based on their purchase history.”
If you are among those who see the banner and want to save the offer, do it before 2 January when it expires and use the credit within 30 days. After saving the offer, head to Account (navigation drawer) and go to the “Rewards” tab.
