The Essential Phone Sold Out And the Company Won’t Add New Ones

The Essential Phones also nicknamed PH-1 are out of stock after being sold out during the holiday season, and it seems that the company will not make any more handsets because they’re focusing on the next mobile devices. Here is the statement a spokesperson gave in an interview with 9to5Google:

We are sold out of Essential Phone on essential.com and won’t be adding any new inventory. We are now hard at work on our next mobile product and will continue to sell accessories and provide speedy software updates and customer support to our existing community.

This means that we will not see any new PH-1 phones from Essential, but we should expect other mobile devices.

Out of Stock – What about the PH-1 Owners?

The Essential Phone sold out this Christmas on essential.com, and most third-party retail stores are also out of stock after the huge discounts that led to a fire sale. This only means that if you were looking to get a PH-1, you can only find it on the second-hand market. The good news is that the owners of this smartphone will continue to get all the updates for their phones in the future.

Android co-founder Andy Rubin provided the creative direction for the Essential Phone, which was in the spotlights as soon as it was launched, but the smartphone did not really take off. It expanded into new markets, but the sales were a lot lower than expected, resulting in rumors that the company might be sold.

However, according to the statement mentioned above, the company announced it is working on the next smartphone. Still, we do not know yet when it will be presented or launched. Earlier this year, they canceled the second generation of the Essential Phone, so this is at least a hint that we should expect something different from the PH-1.
