Even though we’re in a new year, which would be an excellent time for a fresh start for many things, Fallout 76, the most disappointing video game of 2018, continues in the same lines in 2019. The Fallout 76 multiplayer survival game started the new year with a bug affecting the nuke silos in the game, and not allowing the players to access them.
The gamers spotted the glitch on the first day of the year, January 1st, the day of Fallout 76’s weekly reset. The bug made the silos skip re-opening after use and get locked with a new countdown timer of 9,999 hours.
Besides, another glitch has also appeared in the game, blocking the drop of the nuke codes necessary to launch the game’s nuclear weapons. The intel monitor in the enclave bunker is also buggy, presenting the words “Complete” and “Incomplete” superimposed one over the other, while in place of the letters, there are only hashtags.

In other words, Bethesda messed up the most exciting part of the game, namely, the Fallout 76’s main end-game activity of dropping nukes over specific parts of the in-game map. The opportunity to drop nuclear bombs and collect legendary gear from the higher-level enemies found in the nuked areas is what kept the fans around Fallout 76.
On the other hand, fortunately, Bethesda acknowledged the issue and is planning to develop and roll out a fix.
“We’re planning to bring Fallout 76 offline at 2:30 p.m. EST today [January 2nd] for a hotfix to correct the issue with the nuke silos. During this time, Fallout 76 will be unavailable. Thank you for your patience,” announced Bethesda.
The company didn’t provide any more details on the hotfix prepared yesterday for Fallout 76, but the issue was, apparently, only a programming error that screwed up the in-game timers once the year change over.
