New Marvel Game Is Under Development From The Devs Behind Blizzard’s Hearthstone

Reportedly, between the last fall’s Spider-Man for PlayStation 4 and the upcoming Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order, two ex-devs that worked at Blizzard’s Hearthstone, Hamilton Chu and Ben Brode, are now working on a new Marvel game.

That’s excellent news for the fans of the Marvel characters and Marvel-based video games, as well, as it looks like Marvel games are coming back in a big way. Now, as reported by the Variety, Hamilton Chu and Ben Brode, the ex-executive producer and the former game director, respectively, at the team of devs behind Hearthstone, are working on a new Marvel game.

Chu and Brode quit Blizzard in 2018 and put the foundation of their own game studio, Second Dinner. The couple of developers also admitted in a YouTube video that their studio has received funding from NetEase, a Chinese tech company and that a new Marvel game would be the studio’s first video game.

New Marvel Game Is Under Development

Even though the details are scarce at the moment, Hamilton Chu said that “in all likelihood, this will be the best Marvel game ever made.” In addition to that, Marvel Games Executive Vice President Jay Ong admitted that both Chu and Brode an ideal couple of devs for producing Marvel-based video games.

“They and the team they’ve assembled at Second Dinner have made some of the greatest games in history. And now, working with the Marvel Games team and playing in the Marvel Universe. It’s going to be Amazing! Or maybe Spectacular! Or Incredible. Or Mighty. Or quite possibly all of the above,” added Jay Ong.

At the moment, Second Dinner, Chu and Borde’s game studio, is seeking a client engineer and a technical artist to work on the new Marvel game. Apparently, the two devs are having some ambitious plans regarding the new Marvel game.
