In a recent announcement, Capcom revealed that the upcoming Resident Evil 2 Remake would mark the return of the Tofu game modes, including The 4th Survivor and The Tofu Survivor bonus modes. The Tofu game mode will come out along with the Resident Evil 2 Remake, but to play it, you must unlock the mode.
“Survive Raccoon City as the Grim Reaper and… a block of tofu? Unlockable bonus modes make their return in Resident Evil 2 with The 4th Survivor and The Tofu Survivor, included with Resident Evil 2 Remake at launch on January 25th,” announced Resident Evil team on Twitter.
Both Tofu mode’s bonus modes, The 4th Survivor and The Tofu Survivor, were included in the original Resident Evil 2 game, back in 1998. In the initial title, gamers could unlock The 4th Survivor mode by completing both of Leon and Claire’s scenarios with an A rank, while The Tofu Survivor mode was unlockable by getting six A ranks consecutively.
Resident Evil 2 Remake To Mark the Return of The Tofu Game Modes
Capcom, however, did not reveal if the Tofu game modes would be unlockable using the same methods of the original Resident Evil 2 title which launched in 1998.
For the moment, Resident Evil 2 Remake has a demo available, the so-called “1-Shot.” The game’s demo would only last for 30 minutes, no matter you beat the demo in that time or not. On the other hand, the demo would expire on January 31st, 2019, about one week after the game rolls out.
Accordingly, on January 25th, 2019, Resident Evil 2 Remake would come out for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows. In the meantime, you can pre-order the game. Besides, the Resident Evil 2 Remake is one of the most sought-after games for 2019. It follows the same storyline like the original title, while it would also boast some new elements Capcom has added to bring the game into the modern days of gaming.
