Fortnite Bug Causing Massive FPS Drop When Building, Addressed by Epic Games

A Fortnite bug causes a massive FPS drop whenever a player starts building an in-game structure. Luckily, this critical glitch has been addressed by Epic Games via a hotfix. The games studio released the announcement on its official Fortnite Twitter page.

“We have released a hotfix to resolve FPS drops when entering building mode. Players will not be required to update, you will pick it up next time you return to the lobby,” said Epic Games on the official Fortnite Twitter page.

The annoying, critical bug went live with the Fortnite 7.20 update, the latest installment in Fortnite. Many gamers complained about a massive FPS drop each time they were entering the building mode.

“When I have my pickaxe or a weapon out, I do not have any FPS drop, but as soon as I pull out the blueprint it becomes rather low, and when I start building it becomes unplayable,” one of the gamers complained about the bug, on the official Epic Games forum.

Fortnite, which is one of the most popular games at the moment, and the best Battle Royale title, so far, is not free of glitches and bugs. Several have been reported over time, but the most recent bug, launched along with Fortnite 7.20 update, was making the game unplayable whenever a gamer was accessing the building mode.

Epic Games took notice of the bug thanks to the many complaints posted by players on social media and the official Fortnite threads of Epic Games forums. Now, shortly after the glitch was exposed, Epic Games rolled out a hotfix to address it.

Thus, the Fortnite bug causing a massive FPS drop when building in-game structures is gone. The promptitude of Epic Games in solving this situation proves the implication of the game studio in the project, another proof of why Fortnite is the best Battle Royale title for the moment.
