Resident Evil 2 Remake launched on January 25th, 2019, and it is, as its name implies, the remake of the Resident Evil 2 game which rolled out in 1998. Besides, Capcom announced that the entire Resident Evil franchise had sold over 88 million copies since the first game of the series rolled out in 1996. Also, the Resident Evil 7 release reached 9 million copies sold, according to Capcom.

In comparison with the original Resident Evil 2, which sold about 5 million copies, the new Resident Evil 2 Remake sold more than 3 million copies in its first week, so we should expect it to surpass the original installment in the franchise. Also, Capcom expected that to happen since the Resident Evil 2 Remake’s “1-Shot Demo” totaled about 5 million downloads.

Resident Evil 2 Remake Is “A Stellar Remake” Of The Original Title in The Famous Franchise

“Resident Evil 2 is not only a stellar remake of the original, but it’s also simply a strong horror game that delivers anxiety-inducing and grotesque situations, topping some of the series’ finest entries. But above all, the remake is an impressive game for the fact that it goes all-in on the pure survival horror experience, confidently embracing its horrifying tone and rarely letting up until the story’s conclusion,” stated Alessandro Fillari, a renowned games critic.

In other news, Capcom already prepares a DLC pack for Resident Evil 2 Remake. The so-called  Ghost Survivors DLC, which would be free to download and install, would come out next month on February 15th.

In the meantime, Resident Evil franchise’s fans can enjoy the new Resident Evil 2 Remake which is already available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows.
