Apex Legends, The New Titanfall-based Battle Royal Game, Reached 1 Million Players In Only 8 Hours

As we’ve reported already in this article, Apex Legends, a Battle Royale game based on the universe of Titanfall, came out and it’s already a significant success. Vince Zampella, the director of the Respawn Entertainment games studio, the devs behind Titanfall and Apex legends, reported that the newly launched Apex Legends reached 1 million players in only 8 hours after its launch.

Apex Legends rolled out at the moment only on Microsoft Windows, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. Currently, we don’t know if this Titanfall-based Battle Royale game would come out on Android and iOS, too.

As reported before the game’s launch, Apex Legends is a Battle Royale title allowing teams of three player battle in an arena which can hold a maximum of 60 players, that is up to 20 teams. Apex Legends is looking promising so far, and it is already a successful release, reaching 1 million players in only 8 hours after its rollout.

Apex Legends Reached 1 Million Players In Only 8 Hours After Its Launch

“I’m so overwhelmed right now, as Play Apex broke a million unique players in under 8 hours. Thank you so much for showing up and being part of this with Respawn you are amazing,” said Vince Zampella on Twitter, showing his gratitude to the gamers who signed up for this new Battle Royale game.

At the moment, it’s too early to debate a possible “Battle Royale dispute” between Apex Legends and Fortnite, the most popular and appreciated title of the genre. However, if the things keep going for Apex Legends as they did in the game’s first day on the market, soon, we would have a great “clash” between Fortnite and this new Titanfall-based Battle Royale game.

In the meantime, you can play Apex Legends for free on Play Apex site. The game features in-app purchase, while Respawn Entertainment adopted the so-called game-as-a-service model, so we should expect updates and new content to emerge in the game on the go. Also, Apex Legends would boast events and seasons just like Fortnite.
