Among the best news we have for you in terms of RPGs is this one from the recent press release brought by Skybound Games and Beamdog!
We will soon be able to play our favorite RPGs on consoles, wrote the new partners.
RPG Consoles 2019: Baldur’s Gate, Baldur’s Gate II, Baldur’s Gate: Siege of Dragonspear, Icewind Dale, Planescape: Torment, and Neverwinter Nights
All these titles will come to consoles this year, announced Beamdog who partnered with Skybound Games to make this happen. Considering that Beamdog has done a great job at bringing back to life old video games like Dungeons & Dragons, Baldur’s Gate, Neverwinter Nights and Planescape: Torment, we’ll expect nothing but the best experience when the games hit consoles.
The games will be published by Skybound and will come in Enhanced Editions, which can be bought at retail stores and online.
But before getting our hands on them, we can see them at PAX East in Boston from 28 to 31 March, a period when Skybound celebrates their first anniversary.
Bringing the Classics to Platforms
Skybound Games CEO Ian Howe stated that they are “excited to bring Beamdog’s incredible slate to new platforms for both the dedicated fan and those who will soon discover these adventures for the first time. As longtime fans of Baldur’s Gate and Dungeons & Dragons it’s fantastic to partner with Beamdog as the newest member of the Skybound family.”
Trent Oster, Beamdog CEO, added that they are very happy to bring the classic to platforms and that Skybound is a talented group that they are thrilled to work with.
