Shadowbringers would be the next Final Fantasy 14 expansion that Square Enix plans to launch this year. Now, finally, Square Enix revealed the Final Fantasy 14 Shadowbringers release date. During the FFXIV Fan Fest, the games studio behind some of the most popular franchises, such as Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts announced that Final Fantasy 14 Shadowbringers would launch in July 2019 on PS4 and PC.
What’s New in The Upcoming Final Fantasy Shadowbringers?
In addition to announcing the Final Fantasy 14 Shadowbringers expansion pack, Square Enix also revealed more details about the upcoming game.
The Shadowbringers expansion pack in Final Fantasy 14 would roll out with a variety of new dungeons and an extra playable race, the rabbit-looking-like Viera to which the Final Fantasy 12’s race, Fran, belonged to. Besides, Shadowbringers would also add new beast tribes, such as Nu Mou, dwarves, and pixies.
Square Enix also announced the coming of a new class in Final Fantasy 14 Shadowbringers, the Gunbreaker. This class would use gunblades and fills the role of a tank, as GameSpot reported.
Final Fantasy 14 Shadowbringers Release Date Finally Revealed
Final Fantasy 14 Shadowbringers would come out in July 2019 for both PS4 and PC. Besides all the before-mentioned additions, the rollout of Shadowbringers would also mark kick off a new Alliance raid series. Square Enix, however, did not offer further details on that new series, but it could be a crossover with Nier: Automata, as it would be titled YoRHa: Dark Apocalypse.
Final Fantasy 14 Shadowbringers would be available for both Standard and Collector’s Edition variants of the game. The Final Fantasy 14 Collector’ Edition, with Shadowbringers included, would come out at a retail price of $200. It would also come with a whole bunch of physical collectibles, as well as bonus in-game items, such as art book, Dark Knight figure, playing cards, Fran minion, and Revolver Gunbreaker weapon.
Final Fantasy 14 Shadowbringers pre-orders already opened on February 6th, and the players who pre-ordered the game would have early access to Shadowbringers started with June 28th, just a few days before the official rollout of the expansion, in July.
