Dragon Quest 11 has been one of the most critically-acclaimed released in 2018. Recently, Nintendo, via Nintendo’s Direct, confirmed that the game would come to Nintendo Switch. Initially, the title was announced to launch across Japan for Nintendo’s console, but now, Dragon Quest 11 for Nintendo Switch would come out by 2020 for Western markets, too.
According to the trailer of Dragon Quest 11 for Nintendo Switch, the game would feature all the elements of the original release on other platforms but with some exciting new additions, exclusively designed for Nintendo Switch players.
Accordingly, the Nintendo Switch players would have the option to choose between midi and orchestrated soundtrack, as well as between modern graphics and a 16-bit interface that characterized the Dragon Quest era on Super Nintendo. This latter feature would be recognizable by Japanese players who had the chance to play the 3DS port of the Dragon Quest 11. Besides, gamers can choose between Japanese and English voices.

“Innovation in games is talked about a lot, but it’s also great to see traditional gameplay formulas that have been around for decades presented exceptionally well. Dragon Quest XI is one of the best modern examples of this; its beautiful presentation, both visual- and story-wise, combines with a tried-and-true gameplay formula for a journey that’s full of heart and soul,” reads Heidi Kemps’ Dragon Quest 11 review on GameSpot. She rated the game with 9 out of 10.
“Once you find yourself sucked into the world of Dragon Quest XI, it’s going to be hard to put down until you reach the grand finale,” Heidi Kemps added.
Undoubtedly, Dragon Quest 11 is a very appreciated game by both gamers and critics. And soon, Nintendo Switch players would have the chance to play this excellent role-playing video game developed by Square Enix, the devs behind other successful franchise such as Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy, too. According to recent reports, Dragon Quest 11 for Nintendo Switch would come out by 2020, globally.
