Do you remember those days in which you had to enter data manually in Excel? Those days are over now. Microsoft comes with a new feature for Excel, that’s called “Insert Data from Picture”. Users already started to get it.
The feature was first announced last September at the Ignite conference. It basically lets you take a photo in the Excel app with your phone. Then, the information from the photo will turn into an Excel spreadsheet that can be edited.
The company says that this feature will be available in preview, which means that it won’t necessarily be in the final product. It’s more like a beta. If you want to make the most out of it, don’t forget to sign up for the Insiders Program, which is a free service that allows the subscribers to test features before they are released to the public.
The update for Excel will also come for iOS users soon
The “Insert Data from Picture” started to show up this weekend on some of the Android Excel apps. Last week, on the official website, Microsoft stated that the support for the Excel iOS app would also come soon. This new app from Office first went live for Windows 10 users in February. It was originally announced in December, and it replaces the current My Office app. You should start seeing this feature on your Excel apps soon, if not already there.
