PS4 owners who have an active PS Plus subscription receive two free games each month. Sony has partnered with Square Enix, and the two companies released a free version of a favorite fighting game which is a spinoff of the iconic Final Fantasy franchise – Dissidia Final Fantasy NT.
Dissidia Final Fantasy NT Free Edition is now available on the PlayStation Network store for free. As the game is available for free, it comes with a limited roster and locked features. Free-to-play players will be able to access four characters in both online and offline modes.
The roster will be updated each week with new characters. The rotation will be limited to characters which were a part of the base game, which means that DLC characters will not be available unless you decide to buy the game and the specific DLC packs. The story mode is also locked at this time, although the situation could change in the future.
Dissidia Final Fantasy NT Free Edition comes on PS4 for any PS Plus subscriber
In Dissidia Final Fantasy NT Free Edition, players can battle with other gamers who own the game, but a PS Plus subscription is required to access online functionalities. Those who are pleased by the experience and wish to buy the full version of the game will be happy to learn that they won’t lose the progress they made in the Free Edition variant.
The standard version of the game was released in 2018, and most of the reviews were positive. It pitches players in a 3 Vs. 3 arena battles which put a large accent on teamwork and communication. Final Fantasy fans will enjoy the ability to fight with some of the most well-known characters in the franchise as the roster include famous names like Cloud Strife, Sephiroth, and Noctis.
The full game’s roster includes 27 characters split into four main classes – Vanguard, Assassin, Marksman, and Specialist. Seven extra characters are available separately as DLC packs. The combat in Dissidia Final Fantasy NT is alert and intense, with each class being able to make a difference.
A free version of the game is also available on Steam for PC users.
