Gearbox has recently announced Borderlands 3, and it comes with big surprises. The game will include characters from Tales from the Borderlands, which is a spin-off game made by Telltale.
Rhys and all the others are back in the game
Many of the Borderland fans assumed that they would never see the characters ever again, besides the Easter egg reference. Apparently, Rhys and all the other ones will appear in the game. However, they may not be exactly as you remember them. For example, Rhys will not be voiced by the same actor.
The original voice actor himself, Troy Baker, brought the news, when he answered a question at Supanova Melbourne. He was asked if we will reprise his role in the game as Rhys.
He did not know they were bringing back the characters
According to him, he was not aware of the role until he saw the character in the trailer. He chatted with Gearbox, but he never heard back. He said he was very disappointed that he won’t reprise the role. However, he said that he’d still do it if Gearbox asks.
What is his opinion about this?
He also stated that he was upset about the situation, and how it was handled – political. He’s also not the only one who feels the same about this entire deal. Fans everywhere are upset and disappointed, too.
At the moment, Borderlands 3 is still in development for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. It is going to be released on the 13th of September, at a price of $59.99.
We have no details on whether it will also appear on Nintendo Switch.
