We have some good news for gamers. Nintendo has some big plans for the Switch console, and two new versions of it are on their way. Fans can expect a high-end model, as well as a cheaper one. Nikkei, a Japanese newspaper, came with additional details about the release date for the consoles.
According to the rumours we heard do far, the low-end console is expected to come out this fall, which means that there are only a couple of months left until its release. However, on the other hand, it might take more time until the more expensive model will be available.
Testing
Nikkei reported that Nintendo is testing new functions. Rumours also suggest that the release has been delayed because changes are being made to the operating system. We first heard about the two Nintendo Switch consoles in March. Back then, The Wall Street Journal was the one reporting that Nintendo plans to add more alternatives for its fans.
This could be a great moment for Nintendo, as Microsoft and Sony are currently preparing to release their next generation of consoles. Many gamers were hoping for a high end version of the console, and the upcoming model might be exactly what they need.
On the other hand, the cheaper version will also attract new customers. According to The Wall Street Journal, the HD Rumble controller vibration was removed in order to lower the costs. The sources of the Wall Street Journal also added that “you would be wrong to think the enhanced version is similar to what Sony did with PS4 Pro and the other is just a cheap alternative that looks very similar to some past hand-held machines, say, Sony’s PlayStation Vita.”
We should have official release dates for the consoles by the end of the summer.
