Sony and Microsoft’s Consoles: Will There Be a Change in Price?

When it comes to the release of PS5 and Xbox Two, we might have a problem – the price. It seems that both Sony PlayStation and Microsoft deal with this problem. Neither of them has given us a release date, we only know that they’re both going to be launched in 2020.

Sony’s plans are slowly meeting the light of the day, and they also have a list of features that will get included soon. However, Microsoft will give us more details about their brand new console at E3 2019.

Besides the release date, we didn’t get a price from these two companies. This is a very important thing, as it will decide which gaming console will be on top. But something happened this month, and it may affect the prices of the two gaming consoles.

Why is this important?

Recently, The Office of the United States Trade Representative has revealed new details about the new tariffs of the goods.  The charge could get as high as 25% on the new goods, especially those imported from China, which is the biggest manufacturing base for most of the companies out there. In this new document, there are many things listed, including “video game consoles and machines”, which include the PS5 and Xbox Two. We don’t know for sure the tariffs, and even if they would be imposed on the consoles, but if they are, there’s a chance you’ll see a price change. Analysts are trying to predict the price, to see if they would be sold at loss, thing that makes the tariff change even more important. Apparently, the tariff changes will start happening next month, and could start having the impact within weeks.

You also need to keep in mind that this is not the case only for the new consoles, but for PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch too.
