When it comes to its E3 2019 Direct livestream, Nintendo does not want to divulge any details about what it plans to show off. However, there is one announcement that we know will be made. This past weekend, Nintendo representatives confirmed that the next playable DLC fighter of Super Smash Bros. ultimate would be revealed during the presentation, June 11th.
Masahiro Sakurai, the Ultimate Director of Super Smash Bros Ultimate, said in a video message: “As for me, I’ll be continuing my work on the next DLC fighter, and more information regarding that will be shared in the Nintendo Direct for E3 2019, so I hope you’re looking forward to it.”
Doug Browser, the president of Nintendo of America, also hinted at the reveal, telling fans that they should not miss the Nintendo E3 2019 Direct livestream. Even more, Browser announced a Super Smash Bros Ultimate Online Open tournament, that will start this month. Even more exciting, the final four winners of the tournament will compete in a championship at the Evo 2019 later this summer.
Nintendo E3 2019 Direct Livestream To Reveal The Next Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s DLC Fighter
Two other DLC characters have been released for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. In February, early adopters received the Piranha Plant character, while the Persona 5’s joker was released two months later, in April. Nintendo announced that four more DLC fighters would be added to the game, but their identities still remain a secret.
Joker and the next four characters can be obtained by purchasing the Fighters Pass, which costs $25. Each character comes with its own new stage, music tracks, and Spirits. Users can also buy the character packs individually, for $6. Nintendo announced that all of the characters would be released by February of next year.
The Nintendo E3 2019 Direct livestream begins today at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET / 5 PM BST. Besides the reveal of the next Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC fighter, Nintendo will also reveal details about the new Nintendo Switch games coming this year, including Luigi’s Mansion 3, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order, and The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening.
