With every new generation of OnePlus smartphones, demand, appreciation, and expectations about this Chinese brand have been growing.
The following release expected from the company is the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro. Even though the exact launch dates are unclear, we expect to see OnePlus wait until the MWC 2020 event gets over.
We anticipate a mid-March kind of a date for the official announcement and afferent shipments.
The good news is that impatient OnePlus fans can now admire a render of the OnePlus 8 Pro, which has been leaked along with some specifications of the smartphone.
Specifications
The list of alleged specifications that were revealed are more than impressive – the processor will be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC, 8GB of RAM, and two options for internal storage (128GB and 256GB).
The display will be 6.5 inches, rumored to feature AMOLED technology and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. The 120Hz refresh rate was confirmed weeks ago directly from Pete Lau, OnePlus CEO.
Lau’s announcement tweet reads: “The OnePlus 120Hz Fluid Display: The smoothest, most effortless scrolling experience ever on a smartphone.”
The phone will be powered by a 4,500 mAh battery and support 50W fast-charging.
No details regarding the camera were revealed, unfortunately.
It is expected to see OnePlus embed an under-display fingerprint sensor, just like they did on the OnePlus 7 series. That is furthermore backed up by the render, which doesn’t show any trace of a fingerprint sensor on the rear panel.
Premium option
Some market sources expect the company to secretly develop a premium variant of the OnePlus 8 Pro, with beefed-up specifications and premium components and features.
