The second trailer for Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon, which will be released on October 20 this year, is now available online. This film is widely considered to be the flagship of the current awards season. Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio, two of the director’s most regular collaborators, haven’t worked together since the films This Boy’s Life (1993) and Marvin’s Room (1996). The new picture is an adaptation of a best-selling novel written by David Grann and was directed by one of our most recognized living directors. What an amazing turn of events, don’t you think?

Given that the film adaptation of Killers of the Flower Moon is shaping up to be a bit more of a character study than the source material, this second trailer is more descriptive than the first. It uses the words of the men who intend to exploit the Osage to explain who they are, where they got from, and how they got rich.
After making her premiere in the film at the Cannes Film Festival in May, the actress Lily Gladstone, who was raised on the Blackfeet tribe in Montana and portrayed the role of Burkhardt’s wife Mollie, is already creating anticipation for award consideration for her performance. Burkhardt’s uncle William Hale is played by Robert De Niro, who also stars in the film. William Hale is a wealthy rancher and a corrupt local power broker, and he eventually recruits Burkhardt as an accomplice in his plan to steal the Osage’s newly acquired money.
It is difficult to think how much more enthusiasm they could possibly generate, given that there are still three months remaining before the film is released in theaters (and a scheduled streaming launch on Apple TV+ shortly after that).
