Blizzard: Overwatch 2 PvE Story Missions Won’t Be Available Anymore

Blizzard

According to Blizzard, we shouldn’t wait for any new PvE story missions to be added to Overwatch 2 over the course of the next few seasons. Jared Neuss, the executive producer of Overwatch 2, recently made an appearance in a live stream with Emongg, a streamer on Twitch. During their conversation, they addressed the game’s PvE content, and Neuss revealed that we won’t be seeing any fresh objectives until far later. He went on saying:

Don’t expect the next round [of story missions] in the next season and the season after that or anything like that.

Neuss did not provide us with a timeframe for when to anticipate this new PvE material. Still, based on his statements and the scheduling of the new seasons in Overwatch 2, it is reasonable to believe that the developer is pointing towards a time frame of 2024, which is quite a lot!

It’s also been widely reported that fans of Overwatch 2 have had pretty intriguing conflicting opinions about the game. At the beginning of this year, Blizzard made the announcement that it was going to discontinue the PvE mode of Overwatch 2, but later the company changed its mind and said it was going to revamp the game into something that would be easier to produce. Unfortunately, not much was released to keep fans hooked.

Neuss goes on to say that there is a ton of stuff that they plan to do the following year, as well as that they have even begun planning for the following year’s activities. Additionally, he minimized the concerns of the followers by assuring them that the spaces in between would be filled very soon. Because it was only recently announced that Overwatch 2’s PvE is behind a paywall. This shift has left fans feeling rather frustrated with Blizzard’s hero shooter and asking why we needed Overwatch 2 in the first place. What are your thoughts about Blizzard’s recent changes?
