AI-generated content is the new real deal in town and for good reasons. The internet is teeming with folks who speak about how Artificial Intelligence might soon be able to make us skip work and school for the rest of our lives, as it will probably do all the work for us. The bad part is that it could also take our salaries, and money doesn’t grow in trees, as far as we know. Only time will decide how advanced AI will truly impact our economic lives.

Midjourney is one of the AI tools out there that people use for generating images. A lot of tech enthusiasts like to use this software in order to generate images that mean something to them. Artists and designers are doing their best to squeeze the most of what Midjourney has to offer. Many such people like to often use the program, so why not jump on the bandwagon ourselves?

Figuring out what prompts to use to get the best possible results is a very important part of learning how to use an AI generator, and Midjourney is no exception. If you don’t know how to ask the program what you want from it, guess what? It’s not advanced enough to read your mind and true desires, at least not for now.

How to ‘ask’ Midjourney what you want from it

In order to write efficient text prompts to Midjourney so that you will get the best possible results, here are a few powerful tips that you need to keep in mind:

Be as specific as possible

Again, Midjourney doesn’t read minds, so it won’t know exactly what you want from it unless you’re as specific as possible. It’s the same thing when it comes to human relationships. For instance, there’s no use writing just “a tree” if what you really want from the software is an image of a tree with lots of apples set in a sunset landscape. Hence, it’s much better to write “a beautiful sunset landscape with a tree full of apples positioned at the center.”

Be experimental

Experimenting with different prompts to see how Midjourney will react can be a great way to learn more about the app. Furthermore, it’s a great way to learn how to hit the software with more efficient prompts.

Use adjectives

If you had been skipping the English class when you were in school, now’s the time to repent and suffer the harsh consequences. Midjourney won’t generate images that look as impressive as you wish if you don’t use adjectives when you can. Adjectives will give detail and life to your prompts!

Use keywords

It’s also a good idea not to avoid using specific keywords in the prompts you throw at Midjourney. This will help the app understand better what you want from it.

If you wish for Midjourney to generate images in a specific style, it’s a good idea to use keywords that have relevance to that style. As an example, you can use keywords such as “Batman” if you want the app to generate images that have to do with the universe of the Caped Crusader.

Midjourney has been created and hosted by Midjourney Inc, an independent research lab based in San Francisco. Natural language descriptions, meaning text prompts, are enough to make the program generate images for you. Although Midjourney is still in its open beta phase, it shows a lot of interesting potential. Stay tuned for more info on the subject!
