Batman games never seem to get old, especially for the fact that movies and cartoons featuring the legendary Caped Crusader always come out. Great actors such as Ben Affleck, Christian Bale, and Michael Keaton have made us keep Batman in our hearts forever, but let’s also not forget about the numerous video games out there!

There are tons of games out there featuring Batman, and in this article, we’ll try to make a list of some of the best ones! We’ll try to mention even games that aren’t popular anymore, so here goes nothing:

Batman: Arkham Knight (2015)

Batman: Arkham Knight came out almost a decade ago, and it’s still pretty popular today. This game puts you in the shoes of Batman as you use all the dirty tricks in your arsenal to take down your opponents. The game even puts your mind to work through riddles in some situations. Joker is also there, and the Batmobile can make you even more deadly and cunning than usual.

Batman: Arkham Knight is available for PC and the usual consoles (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, etc.)

Batman: Arkham City (2011)

Batman: Arkham City is a direct sequel to Arkham Asylum, and it even expands the open-world environment. Players are allowed to explore a larger area of Gotham City that has become a massive prison.

New gameplay mechanics, gadgets, and a larger roster of villains are introduced in this game, such as Penguin, Two-Face, and Mr. Freeze. Similarly to its predecessor, Arkham City received critical acclaim for its gameplay depth, storytelling, and attention to detail when it comes to capturing the essence of the Batman universe.

Batman: Arkham VR (2016)

Batman Arkham VR was developed only for virtual reality platforms, as you may have already guessed. This game allows players to step in the shoes of Batman in a totally new manner. The experience that Batman Arkham VR has to offer is short, but it is still immersive enough. Players get to solve puzzles and investigate crime scenes, similarly to how Batman does them.

We can safely say that Batman Arkham VR provides a unique perspective on the Batman universe and serves as a showcase for the power of gaming when it comes to virtual reality.

Batman: Arkham Origins (2013)

WB Games Montreal is responsible for creating Batman: Arkham Origins, a game that serves as a prequel to the Arkham series, as it takes place a few years before the events that happen in Arkham Asylum.

Arkham Origins follows a younger and less experienced version of Batman as he needs to face off against a roster of assassins who were hired by Black Mask, a crime lord, on Christmas Eve. This game maintains the core gameplay mechanics of its series and even brings new features such as the Crime Scene Investigation system.

Batman: The Video Game (1989)

Batman: The Video Game is a game for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), and we could consider it the ancestor to more modern Batman games such as Arkham Knight. This game, which is more than 3 decades old, was incredibly immersive for its time. As a player, you step in the shoes of Batman as you walk through the levels using your fists and a bag of “toys.” You have pistols, batarangs, and more. A boss fight will await you at the end of each level.

The music was absolutely phenomenal in this game. Thumbs up for that!
