Announced recently by Epic Games, the Epic Games Store goes live, finally, with a whole bunch of games. The famous video games company made this announcement during The Game Awards 2018.
The first games that went live on the new Epic Games Store were Annapurna’s Ashen, Supergiant’s Hades, and TinyBuild’s Hello Neighbor: Hide and Seek.
As Epic games revealed last Tuesday, the new Epic Games Store, which is already available on both Windows and macOS computers, will only take a 12 percent share of the revenues generated by the games on the platform. That’s a quite affordable fee the devs would have to pay, in comparison to the 30% commission that Valve’s Steam takes.
Besides, this new Epic Games Store has been quickly dubbed as “the game store that Fortnite built” by fans and news portals, as well. In reality, they are right as Fortnite is the most successful title of the company and also the game which brought a considerable profit for Epic Games.
