Fortnite keeps evolving, and as soon as season 7 went live, there were so many features, including planes, that had everyone enthused. A few days after the season was introduced, Epic also teased the appearance of swords to the game.
It might not be too surprising since the seventh season of Fortnite: Battle Royale debuted with a tactical Santa that led a Snowman army and had an amazing sword in his hand. Then the Ice King had a similar blue version of the sword. Today, on Twitter, Fortnite posted a teaser saying that Swords are coming to Fortnite.
There are no more details on the game mechanics with the swords, but they should shake the world that has been built around shooting mechanics. The game will surely have a new dimension since close melee combat should be a high-risk high-reward tactic players could use in specific situations. Swords will come this week, and Epic also teased that it will add even more items with the incoming update.
As soon as swords arrive, Fortnite will have a lot of balancing to do, considering that the new weapons should be more powerful since they are more risky to use.
New Features in Season 7
With the new season, Epic also introduced an island and features like zip lines and planet. It also introduced a creative mode that is oddly similar to Minecraft. In a blog post, Epic wrote:
“Design games, race around the island, battle your friends in new ways, and build your dream Fortnite. It’s all happening on your own private island where everything you make is saved.”
There is also a section of the Fortnite Island which was specially created to allow fans to show off their creations.
And to top it all, Epic also launched its PC and Mac games store, and it has a bunch of interesting games and offers.
