As 2018 is just about to end and 2019 will come with new games, the latest Japanese charts on the gaming industry have come in with not many surprises. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is still the first regarding video game sales, summing up more than 2 million sales. However, the new Dragon Quest Builders 2 sells best on PlayStation 4 in Japan but, on the overall, it’s still far behind Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and even behind Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! / Let’s Go, Eevee!
The latest release from Square Enix, Dragon Quest Builders 2, the second title in the franchise, entered the Japanese charts in the fourth place with about 110,000 copies, outperforming the Nintendo Switch version by approximately 13,000 units.
While Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is the first in the video game sales chart with over 2 million copies sold, in the second place, there is Super Mario Party, launched in May 2018, scored more than 700,000-lifetime sales.
