Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Is The Best-Selling Game, At The Moment, According To Nintendo
But the recent report, even though it reveals the significant success that is Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, is not excellent news for Nintendo which estimated even larger sales figures.
“Unfortunately, it looks like Nintendo will miss its very ambitious hardware sales targets. The company originally planned to sell 20 million Switch units this fiscal year, and while it’s managed an impressive 15 million as of December 31st, Nintendo’s revised the target estimation to 17 million units. Still, the system performed very well over the holidays, with a 19.5% increase on last year. Software fared even better, with a whopping 100% increase on the same period last year,” the NintendoWire news portal reported.
“The pivot away from 3DS has become even more apparent too on the side of consumers, with a drop of 60.5% when it comes to 3DS hardware sales and 64.5% decrease for 3DS software. Still, the system is still pulling in numbers in the millions, so Nintendo will likely keep supporting it for quite some time,” the website continued. In other news, anyways, Mario Kart Tour, the Nintendo’s first Mario Kart mobile game, has been delayed until summer of this year.
