Speculations that Erdrick from the popular Dragon Quest franchise of Square Enix would come to Super Smash Bros Ultimate reignited as the Game Supervisor, Kumazaki Shinya, posted on Instagram an image depicting Kirby sitting next to what it looks like “Brave’s Shield” from Dragon Quest. Now, the game’s fans are expecting Super Smash Bros Ultimate to receive a new DLC fighter from the universe of Dragon Quest, be it Erdrick or not.
Also, the rumors that a Dragon Quest hero is about to come to Super Smash Bros Ultimate as a new DLC fighter substantiated when a reliable dataminer revealed the “Yuusha” codename in the code of the forthcoming DLC Season Pass, which, reportedly, was a clear reference to Brave, a hero from Dragon Quest. And that because “Yuusha” is the Japanese word for “brave.”
Super Smash Bros Ultimate Might Receive A New DLC Fighter From The Universe of Square Enix’s Dragon Quest
As mentioned above, Super Smash Bros Ultimate’s Game Supervisor, Kumazaki Shinya, posted an image on Instagram, showing Kirby next to a depiction of the Brave’s Shield for Square Enix’s Dragon Quest franchise. Shinya also said on Instagram the following: “The Brave’s Shield. And the legend has begun.” Accordingly, Super Smash Bros Ultimate might indeed receive a new DLC fighter from the universe of Dragon Quest, but we still don’t know for sure which one it would be.
Of course, shortly after Shinya posted the before-mentioned image on Instagram, the Super Smash Bros Ultimate fans started commenting. While some of them stated that they would love to see Sora from Kingdom Hearts in Super Smash Bros Ultimate, others, probably fans of the Dragon Quest series, congratulated Nintendo for the potential addition of a Dragon Quest character to the popular Super Smash Bros Ultimate via the upcoming DLC pack.
