Supercell, which is the developer of Clash of Clans and Clash Royale, has recently made a team with ESL in order to make the Clash of Clans World Championship happen. This one will also have a prize of $1 million, and we are all excited!
When can I sign in for the event?
For those of you interested, the online pre-qualifiers start on the 1st of March, within the iOS and Android game or through the ESL Play. There will be four teams chosen from each platform. These eight teams are then to compete in an offline qualifier that will take place every month, at a new arena from Katowice, Poland, where six final teams will be pulled from the monthly events gradually.
When will the championship happen?
Two other teams will be selected by Supercell and by the community of Clash of Clans. The World Championship Final will be held in Germany in front of a live audience. It will happen later this year, according to some sources. We have also heard that the games will be played in a new 5v5 team mode.
Clash of Clans or Clash Royale? Which one is more popular?
Clash of Clans is the first mobile strategy game from the franchise, that was so popular that the team behind the game made another strategy mobile game, named Clash Royale. However, according to some sources, only $1.6K in a total of the prize money exist because of Clash of Clans. Clash Royale, if we are to compare it to its elder brother, had so many smaller events before the $1M inaugural Clash Royale League season that happened last year.
