If you are using virtual reality to see your favorite characters up close, you will be able to do so with the Nintendo ones as well, and for your dream to come true, you do not have too much time left to wait. Nintendo revealed on Thursday that Super Mario Odyssey and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on the Nintendo Switch will receive VR support via the upcoming Toy-Con VR Goggles which come as an inclusion into the Nintendo Labo: VR Kit that was recently announced.
Free software updates will be introduced into both of the games on 25h of April to add the VR modes. Nintendo describes the update for Super Mario Odyssey as “a bite-sized bonus experience” from which players will take advantage as it allows them to revisit the three kingdoms from the original game to complete mini-missions, the experience taking place entirely in VR.
Super Mario Odyssey and Zelda: Breath of the Wild To Receive VR Support
The comprehensiveness of the VR mode for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild appears to be way better as it has a new setting in the options menu to activate Toy-Con VR Goggles whenever the user wants. If you take a look at the video below, you will see that VR can be used through the entire game.
According to Nintendo, if you want to play in VR, you will not need to start a new save file so wherever you are in the game, you can jump right in. Just toggle the setting off when you are done.
Both Super Mario Odyssey and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild are two of the best Switch games to date and two of the best games of 2017 so if you want to experience them in VR you will be able to do so by using the Labo VR Starter Set starting on 12th of April for $39.99.
