Fortnite announced the arrival of a new location in Season 9, hinting at a possible Stranger Things crossover, making fans of both the game and the series extremely excited.
Stranger Things is a hit series created by the Duffer Brothers and released by Netflix in 2016. The action takes place in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana, and revolves around the peculiar events surrounding the disappearance of Will Byers.
The series generally received positive reviews, from both critics and viewers, gaining a massive fanbase worldwide. There are two seasons of Stranger Things available on Netflix at the moment, as the third one will be released this summer. You can watch the trailer of season 3 of Stranger Things here.
Fortnite Season 9 Skins Revealed
Fortnite Season 9 started just a few days ago, on May 9, 2019, and will end on July 12, 2019, lasting a total of 10 weeks. The new season brings some significant changes, including a new map, challenges, slipstreams, and new locations.
Also, Fortnite Season 9 skins were revealed:
While some locations are remodeled after old ones, like Tilted Towers and Retail Row, which were destroyed at the end of season 8 and were reborn as Neo Tilted and Mega Mall, the ninth season also brings some brand new exciting locations.
Brand New Fortnite Season 9 Location References Stranger Things
A screenshot posted on Reddit reveals one of the new locations, a new shop called Scoops Ahoy. Fans were thrilled to find out it has the same name and logo featured in the new Stranger Things trailer for season 3.
Should We Expect A Fortnite – Stranger Things Crossover?
Although there is a slight chance of a crossover happening, we should not get our hopes up to high. The new location could only be a way to pay homage to Stranger Things, not necessarily an indicator of a future collaboration.
However, season 3 of Stranger Things will be released in July, so Epic Games could be planning a surprise event to celebrate the launch.
Another similar situation happened when some leaks revealed John Wick’s house was added as a new location in Season 9 of Fortnite. Even more, the Reaper skin introduced in Season 3 Battle Pass definitely points to John Wick so that the event might have been in the works for a long time.
Epic Games did not divulge anything yet, so fans are eager to see if their assumptions are correct.
