Red Dead Redemption 2 had huge success ever since it got released towards the end of last year, in October 2018. After only three days of sales, the game made $725 million. The launch was considered the most important entertainment event of the year. Some sources claim Rockstar has been working on a Red Dead Redemption 2 for PC port since 2016.
Leaks Suggest Red Dead Redemption 2 Is Coming To PC
The leak apparently comes from sure sources, including the LinkedIn profiles of two former Rockstar employees, a physics designer who left the company in 2017 and a physics programmer who left in 2016.
The rumors sparked up fans’ interest, as many of them have been waiting for a PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2.
The company could benefit greatly from such a release, as PC exposure will boost up sales and live service revenues from Red Dead Online. Since Rockstar has a tradition of launching PC versions of their games years after the initial release (for example GTA V was first released on two consoles, then on PC), the launch of Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC sounds like a possibility even more.
A re-release for PC would bring Rockstar a lot of earnings, as many desktop gamers would be thrilled to try the game.
Red Dead Redemption 2 Could Be Available On The Epic Games Store
When Red Dead Redemption 2 eventually becomes available for PC, we should expect it to be exclusive to the Epic Games store, as it would generate more incomes for the publisher in the long term especially since Rockstar already has a number of exclusive deals with Epic for Borderlands 3 and The Outer Worlds.
If the Red Dead Redemption 2 for PC is now in the works at Rockstar Games, we expect to witness its release sometime in 2020 or maybe even later.
