The first special Event in Harry Potter Wizards Unite is called Brilliant Event: Fantastic Flora and Fauna, and it is a limited time event that will begin today and end on July 10th. The Brilliant Event: Fantastic Flora and Fauna Schedule
The event will begin today on July 3, and will end on July 10.

- UK: 6pm (BST)
- Europe: 7pm (CEST)
- East Coast US: 1pm (EDT)

The Brilliant Event: Fantastic Flora and Fauna Quests
There are four sets of Special Assignments for this event, each one containing three tasks.
Just like with regular tasks, you get a reward after completing a special task, and when you complete a Special Assignment, you get three rewards. Make sure you collect them before the event ends!

Brilliant Event: Fantastic Flora and Fauna – Step 1
- Collect Energy Spell from 2 Inns (Reward: 2 Restricted Section Books)
- Unlock 1 Portkey (Reward: 15 Brilliant Family XP)
- Return 2 Foundables of any family (Reward: 10 Brilliant Family XP)
Rewards: 500 XP, 20 Brilliant Family XP, 2 Restricted Section Books
Brilliant Event: Fantastic Flora and Fauna – Step 2
- Recover 2 brilliant buckbeak foundable fragments (Reward: 300 XP)
- Return 3 magizoology family foundables (+10 brilliant family xp)
- Perform 2 great spell casts (Reward: 15 Brilliant Family XP)
Rewards: Wizarding Achievement Badge, 25 Brilliant Family XP, 3 Restricted Sections Book
Brilliant Event: Fantastic Flora and Fauna – Step 3
- Return 7 Medium Threat* Foundables (Reward: 400 XP)
- Recover 2 Brilliant Unicorn Foundable fragments (+500 xp)
- Return 4 care of magical creatures family foundables (+15 brilliant family xp)
Rewards: 2 Exstimulo Potions, 25 Brilliant Family XP, 3 Restricted Section Books
* “Medium” on the threat level – foundables appear on the map with a yellow light rising from their icon on the map.

- Unlock 5 Portkeys (Reward: 750 XP)
- Brew 7 Potions (Reward: 10 Brilliant Family XP)
- Compete 3 Wizarding Challenges (Reward: 15 Brilliant Family XP)
Reward: Salamander Foundable, 50 Gold, 5 Restricted Section Books, 1 Portrait Hat
Where are the Brilliant Foundables?
You can found Brilliant Foundables and add them to your Registry. You will find the page in the Events tab, at the bottom right hand of the Registry Tab. Reddit user Wwrth shared with the fellow wizards the following locations for the foundables:
- Unicorn – Special oddity encounters (12 Fragments)
- Buckbeaks – Special oddity encounters (10 Fragments)
- Acromantula – Challenge Fortress using event runestone (3 Fragments)
- Tree Stump – Event achievement page (1 Fragment)
- Salamander – Event achievement page (1 Fragment)
- Snargaluff – 7km Portkey sticker bonus (3 Fragments)
Brilliant Traces Are Purple and Have an Exclamation Mark
You will easily spot Brilliant Traces because they are purple, have an exclamation mark over them and there’s a purple light rising from their icon on the map.
Use The Brilliant Runestones in Wizarding Challenges
You will receive Brilliant Runestones after completing tasks and adding Brilliant Foundables to the registry. Use them in Wizarding Challenges to receive a Brilliant Foundable Fragment after you successfully complete the challenge.
What Are Restricted Section Books?
During this event you will receive Restricted Section Books that are like the scrolls ore red spell books. Use them to level up your Profession. Make sure you use them wisely, since you can only receive 15 Restricted Section Books from a Brilliant Event.
Other Tips for the Brilliant Event: Fantastic Flora and Fauna
Reddit user Wwrth participated in a previous event during beta and has some vital tips for us:
“Runestones and portkeys from the last event did not disappear from inventory after the event.”
You can pick up special 7km event portkeys during the event. Make sure you save 3-4 silver keys for them to also fill out the registry page for the event. Also, save a couple of 2km portkeys to quickly complete some of the special tasks.
Do not panic if unicorns and buckbeaks vanish, do not use high tier potions like Dawdle Draughts and Potent Estimulo on them, because they will show up a lot on the map.
Wwrth also added that “most people should be able to finish within the first 1-3 days,” so don’t panic and don’t walk around all day long to complete these tasks!

Hello, Rob! Thanks for the heads-up. I am aware the tasks are different – I didn’t have enough time to walk and unlock my 5km Portkey and couldn’t update the second tasks. You’re seeing different tasks because these were the ones that showed up in BETA and everyone thought they’ll be the same.
