Rivian has been pretty busy these days as the launch of its two new EVs, and the R1T and the R1S have been anticipated for the launch. Recently the Electric automakers grabbed a vast investment just before the vehicles even hit the showrooms. With rivals like Nikola and Tesla’s Cybertruck, what will be the next move of the electric car makers, Rivian?
Rivian is said to have just closed a new funding round totaling a whopping $2.5 billion in funding, with investments led by T. Rowe Price. Before that, the company has been funded by $700 million from Amazon, $500 million from Ford, and $350 million from Cox Automotive. According to CNBC, all-in-all, Rivian raised $2.85 billion in 2019 alone. Amazingly, the company hasn’t even started the production of its much-awaited products, the R1t, a Tesla Cybertruck rival and R1S, an electric 3-row SUV. Though the company has been spied testing the prototype, we don’t have any launch dates yet.
Whereas competition like Nikola has started the reservations of its fuel-cell and electric pickup truck the Badger. The renderings of the same were published just before Tesla launched the Cyber truck.
So what will be the future of pickup trucks? To pen down let’s go through all the options we have right now:
Tesla Cybertruck
Rivian R1T
Nikola Badger
Lordstown Endurance
Ford F-150 electric pick-up
These five names are the most anticipated pickup trucks choices, these also include, Bollinger B2, GMC Hummer electric, Atlis XT, Fisker Alaska, and Karma EREV.
