While the Nord CE model is a cheaper version of the original OnePlus Nord, the Nord2 model is the next top of the range of the Nord budget series.
Thus, the new smartphone comes with a 6.43-inch AMOLED screen, offering FHD + resolution, 90Hz refresh rate and integrated fingerprint sensor. The performance is given by the Dimensity 1200 chipset, a solution that rivals Snapdragon 888, without much success. However, if the price is right, the MediaTek solution is not bad at all.
Depending on the available budget, the storage options will be 8 / 128GB or 12 / 256GB memory.
Expected with a 4500 mAh battery, OnePlus Nord2 will have at least 30W fast charging, but expectations are for a 65W implementation, similar to Xiaomi products.
Reaching the photo capabilities, Nord2 takes some features from the flagship model OnePlus 9 Pro, such as the camera ornament. We have the same 50MP resolution on the main sensor, given by the same Sony IMX766 sensor found on the more expensive model. The ultra-wide camera will offer 8MP resolution, while the Macro function and depth effects are ensured using 2MP sensors, without pretensions to the performance part. Fortunately, the selfie camera is a model with 32MP resolution and good image quality. It remains to be seen whether the manufacturer will deliver a secondary front camera, as in the original OnePlus Nord.
Although unconfirmed, the launch date of OnePlus Nord2 seems to be set for July 9, 2021
