In light of the anticipated acquisition of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft, the new role-playing game Diablo 4 may be included in PC Game Pass at some point in the near future. However, there is no guarantee that this will happen like soon! Blizzard has stated that it does not currently have any plans to add Diablo 4 to the service; however, the company has not ruled out the possibility of releasing any form of Diablo 4 Game Pass in the future. This might include downloadable content, seasonal content, or even the whole game itself. What an awful and disheartening turn of events!
Initially, Diablo 4 was advertised as “Available Now” on the Brazilian payments software PicPay, which included a banner with a picture of Lilith with the Diablo 4 logo. A similar message to the: “You may purchase it right now, or you can play it on Xbox Game Pass,” was displayed. The advertisement that featured Diablo 4 was removed from the website almost immediately; nevertheless, this did not prevent it from being shared widely on the internet. So, that’s the background of today’s story.
And then came the confirmation of Diablo 4 not hitting the Game Pass. When Blizzard Entertainment president Mike Ybarra became aware of the issue, he commented on a post promoting the release of Diablo 4’s Game Pass by stating, “This is not happening.”
Even though it is not a paid title, Overwatch 2 will soon be available on PC Game Pass. This means that subscribers will have access to a wide variety of in-game cosmetics, as well as legendary skins, up to six DLC characters, and more. It is probable that a large number of Blizzard titles will be added to the service in the event that Microsoft is successful in completing its acquisition of Activision Blizzard. However, it’s possible that the first three Diablo games may come out first and that Diablo 4 will be released in a couple of…let’s not say, years?!
So there you have it; PC Game Pass will not be getting Diablo 4 anytime soon. Despite this, we do not believe that the possibility of Diablo 4 being included in Game Pass is gone.
