New Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves Trailer Looks Incredible; What to Expect?

SNK

At Evo 2017, one of the greatest shocks was the revelation that SNK had begun development on an entirely new Fatal Fury / Garou title. Insane! Now, we finally get a closer look at it, which is incredible. The beginning of the trailer includes audio samples of numerous individuals yelling out their unique moves alongside visuals of multiple spots on the map of South Town’s recognizable neighborhood. This is definitely introducing us to a new realm!

The brand new trailer for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves was unveiled by SNK immediately following the top six placements for The King of Fighters 15 at Evo 2023. Have a look at it down below, and then tell us what you think about it in the comments:

The game is a direct successor to Garou: Mark of the Wolves, which was initially published all the way back in 1999 (those were the times, man!). The game’s new official name is Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, and it was granted this name recently. As mentioned in the beginning, the trailer includes audio samples of numerous individuals yelling out their unique moves alongside visuals of multiple spots on the map of South Town’s recognizable neighborhood.

SNK says at the conclusion of the trailer that the forthcoming Fatal Fury is actively in production and that viewers should look forward to further surprises. But here’s the thing. There is no solid information on when the game will actually be released.

Towards the end of the video, we are also shown a few chosen pictures of Rock Howard and Terry Bogard standing and showing off some cool moves. Unfortunately, we don’t know yet whether or not the upcoming installment of Fatal Fury will, in fact, be a game of combat like its predecessors. So far, that appears to be the case at this stage. Even while it appears to be employing the same engine as KOF15, the new Fatal Fury looks like it relies more heavily on a cell-shaded aesthetic, which causes the colors to really stand out in the brief piece of footage that we have here.
