Zombie Army 4: Dead War, the compulsive zombie-killing game that was released back in 2020, is not just one of the best games ever made about taking out the undead in all sorts of creative and fun ways. This game is also teeming with exciting places to explore, and some of them are direct references to famous horror movies such as The Shining, Se7en, and a lot more.

Zombie Army 4 is all about taking out Hitler’s resurrected army after the Nazis have made a deal with the evil realm. The famous German ruler will be the final boss in this game, as he will come in great style, on top of a supertank that will fire everything it can to the player.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre reference

At some point in Zombie Army 4, you will have to face The Butcher, who is one of the bosses of the game. Later on, The Butcher will appear numerous times in the game in other missions. Either way, his way of dancing around with the deadly chainsaw seems to be a direct reference to “The Texas” Chainsaw Massacre,” a famous horror movie from the ’70.

That was easily one of the scariest movies ever made, as it presents the story of a group of people who go on a vacation but run into a group of cannibals. Guess what? The Zombie Army 4 game is not too different when it comes to its level of gruesomeness, as it is highly creative in that area.

The developers themselves from the British firm Rebellion tell us more about the horror movie references of Zombie Army 4, as there is plenty to talk about.

Zombie Army 4: Dead War is a sequel to the 2015 compilation game Zombie Army Trilogy, and it can be played on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Cloud Gaming, and Google Stadia.
