Professional CS: GO Player “Forsaken” Banned For Life For Cheating In A Tournament

Similar to every other kind of activity or sport, if you want, eSports have its own cheating scandals. In the most recent one, a professional Indian CS: GO player, that goes by the name of Forsaken, Nikhil Kumawat, on his real name, got banned for life for cheating in a tournament.

Nikhil, a member of the OpTic Gaming’s CS: GO team, was caught cheating during the eXTREMESLAND Asia Finals which took place on October 19th. Even more, the OpTic CS: GO team was dissolved. As for “Forsaken,” he got banned for life from every official eSports competition.

“It has been confirmed by Extremesland Officials that @OpTicIndia player ‘Forsaken’ has been caught with hacks on his PC. The team has been dismissed from the tournament immediately, and the player will be sent home on the next flight. No further statements from OptiC at this time,” CSGO2ASIA said on its official Twitter page.

The event took place in Shanghai where the Indian OpTic CS: GO team reached the finals. Somewhen during the final stage of the tournament, the juries found that the professional CS: GO player “Forsaken,” a member of the before-mentioned team, was caught using hacks on his computer to get an edge over its adversaries.

According to the officials of the event, “Forsaken” attempted to delete the hacks and come out clean.

Finally, OpTic India team announced on Twitter that they “stand strongly against any form of cheating as it not only tarnishes the local roster but potentially harms competitive integrity in the region.” As regarding “Forsaken,” OpTic CS: GO team announced that they terminated his contract.
