Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 3 – Release date, leaks and more

We expect Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 3 to arrive on PC, Xbox and PS4 sometime in the foreseeable future. Here’s what we managed to find out about this project that seems to be in development.

Surprise

EA really struck gold with Plants vs. Zombies and its surprising success. That’s why the company chose to plan ahead for a third release of this friendly shooter hit and that should happen soon, we think.

Well, officially speaking, we have only seen EA avoiding to speak about the game. Inside a forum post, EA said that “no announcement regarding [Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 3] has been made at this time.”

Unofficially

Back in March, users of Reddit observed that the Amazon UK’s listing of Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare Volume 2 had its description changed. It said that the comic book that will be released soon will connect Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare volume 2 with the third installment of the game.

The official description stated that “Paul Tobin returns to write the official comic book bridge between video games PvZ: GW2 and PvZ: GW3 with Tim Lattie returning to deliver artwork.”

Release date

We previously expected EA to announce the game during E3 2018, which would have meant that the game coming out before 2019. However, it didn’t happened as planned, and it may be that EA wants to shift the release to 2019, a period less crowded with fellow shooters.

Another important aspect to find out is whether EA jumps in the battle royale ship or not. Plants vs. Zombies would be the perfect setting for it. Since Battlefield V also came with such a mode, EA accumulated some experience in this regard.

For the time being, we need to wait for more details to come out.
