Blizzard Is Reportedly Working On A Warcraft-Themed Mobile Game Like Pokemon Go

As the feedback on Diablo Immortal was not as positive as Blizzard expected, the renowned company is still optimistic about its mobile gaming future. According to information shared online by Kotaku, Blizzard might be working on a Warcraft-themed mobile game which would be massively influenced by Pokemon Go.

As reported by Kotaku, Cory Stockton, the lead designer of World of Warcraft, is also a big fan of Pokemon Go. Apparently, many guys from Blizzard are playing Niantic’s title on a daily basis. Supposedly, the devs thought about bringing the Warcraft universe into a game like Pokemon Go.

However, Blizzard will not release just another Pokemon Go-like Warcraft-themed mobile game, but the company plans on releasing a brand new game based on the concept Niantic implemented in the Pokemon Go title but with more single-player elements.

“There are lots of mobile game players at Blizzard. There are lots of people actually excited about mobile games. The reaction inside the company to Immortal is very different than the reaction outside the company,” one of the sources cited by Kotaku said.

Pokemon Go is a very popular game as millions of players worldwide are playing the title on a daily basis. Blizzard’s devs are reportedly among the biggest fans of the Niantic’s title, so they planned on working on a Warcraft-themed mobile game which would borrow some elements from Pokemon Go.

This move would significantly help Blizzard regain the loyalty of the Warcraft series fans, while it might also attract some of the Pokemon Go gamers. However, for the moment, there’s nothing official about the reported Warcraft-themed mobile game like Pokemon Go, so you should take this rumors with a salt of grain, as eventually there might not be such a project.
