Apple has recently released the numbers regarding all the devices that run on iOS 12. According to the report, in early October, 60% of all the devices were running on iOS 12, and 63% of the devices that got released in the last four years were running on iOS 12 which means that the numbers are now up with 10 points more.
Also, 72% of the devices that have been sold in the past four years were running on iOS 12, and 70% of all the devices that have access to the App Store are now running on iOS 12.
It all comes down to the devices that are connected to the App Store
These numbers are all based on the devices that connect to the App Store, so it means that the numbers don’t include those devices that never go online, or the devices that aren’t connected to an Apple ID, so those with no access to the App Store whatsoever.
We think that a 10% increase is actually a substantial jump, especially given the fact that it’s been just a bit over a month. More and more clients want the latest version, so it will only get difficult to capture those users who remain, as we’re talking about the approaching towards the 80 to 90%.
At the moment, iOS 12 is currently outpacing iOS 11 regarding the adoption rate from the same period. We don’t have concrete details. However, we believe that iOS12 is actually focusing on refining the operating system – making it faster, and fixing bugs.
iOS 12.1 also added support for Group FaceTime, dual SIM, and even eSIM support. Also, users get to enjoy new emojis.
