One UI is supposed to replace TouchWiz, and the Samsung experience should be better. In this case, we’re talking about Android 9 Pie.
Can I get One UI? On what devices does it work?
You can get One UI if you have Note 9, Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus. It will also come with the new S10 models, and it includes Galaxy S10 5G.
You will be able to use it with one hand
For this one, Samsung has rebuilt most of its native apps, in order to make them much easier to use with only one hand. Keeping in mind that most of the devices are larger, it’s very important to be able to use the phone with one hand.
Night mode better with OLED
It’s been said that a big feature of the next version of Android and iOS will be the dark mode. Once it got activated, it will work for both the notification panel and the settings panel. Everything is so much easier to handle, especially when it comes to the OLED displays.
Gestures to make your life easier
Samsung has come with many features, including gestures, that can replace the standard keys. With a swipe up you can get home, with a swipe to the left or right, you can go back, or get to the updated multitasking view. It’s similar to the iPhone X experience.
It will be much slicker
Samsung has worked on every design element of One UI. The native apps seem to be less busy and also Bixby got a cleaner home. Also, the settings menu is much easier to navigate. You will also find new icons and animations, and the overall image is pleasant.
