League of Legends 9.12 PBE – Revealing The New Mordekaiser (Voyboy Gameplay Guide)

It was no surprise that Mordekaiser’s reworked abilities would make him a true juggernaut, but who would have thought that the reworked R would make gameplay terrifying and fun as well: R=”1v1 me, bro?” He is the master of death, after all, so his R should reflect the idea that you cannot escape him. Let’s see the new Mordekaiser abilities in League of Legend’s gameplay preview.

We’ve also added as a bonus Voyboy’s sneak peek for the reworked Mordekaiser and some gameplay that should be enough to guide us through the new kit of the… Master of Metal?!

Mordekaiser Abilities

Here is Morde’s new kit, presented on the League’s Champion preview page:

Passive – Darkness Rise

“Mordekaiser’s basic attacks deal bonus magic damage. After three spells or attacks against a champion, Darkness Rise deals damage to nearby enemies and gives movement speed until Mordekaiser is out of combat.”

Q – Obliterate

“Mordekaiser slams down his mace, dealing damage in an area or bonus damage to a single enemy.”

W – Indestructible

“The evil overlord absorbs 25% of damage taken and damage dealt. Casting once generates a shield with this value. Mordekaiser can cast again to consume 50% of the shield for health.”

E – Death’s Grasp

“Passive: Mordekaiser gains 25% Magic Penetration.

Active: A deadly claw drags enemies towards him, dealing damage.”

R – Realm of Death

“Mordekaiser banishes a single enemy champion to the Death Realm for a 7 second 1v1, stealing a percent of their core stats. If he kills his target, he consumes their soul, keeping their partial stats until they respawn.”

The new Mordekaiser should show up tomorrow, in 9.12 PBE for testing and tweaking, so we might see some different stats for his spells after some playtesting. Now let’s see how you can banish your enemies in the Shadow Realm and fight them 1v1:

What do you think of the new Mordekaiser? It was time Riot showed him some love, but we’ll have to see if they did him justice when it gets to the live client.
